Good Morning, America
I know it’s been ages and I’ll write more later. But for now, I have just one question: Can you tell me why so many of you are spitting bullets about this?
Your President is talking to your kids today. Presidents have been doing that for years. If you read his prepared remarks, there’s nothing sly, underhanded, socialistic or insidious about what he has to say. It’s a simple “good for you for being in school, work hard, stick with it, and make a difference” kind of message.
What about that moves some mothers (as witnessed on weekend newscasts) to burst into tears with worry?
God knows what Barack Obama has to say today won’t do any more harm than the “No Child Left Behind” program introduced by George W. Bush, now, will it?
Right. Exactly. Now get a grip, let the man speak, and let the kids figure it out for themselves. That’s a thing called discernment. They’ll thank you for it later.
