Does That Make Me A Geek?
Every once in a while, I check my site stats.
Oh, who am I kidding? I look at them every day.
Not updating this space for several months cost me a lot of traffic, and I plan to rectify that. But to my lovely niece, one unknown reader in Toronto, another in Halifax and the three or four bots that visit me regularly, I thank you for checking back regularly. I so appreciate it. You are the ones who keep me going.
Today as I quickly glanced at who and where in my stats, I saw someone different. Someone actually found me from their post in Merritt Island, Florida.
Why does this excite me? Because Merritt Island is where you will find Cape Canaveral. It’s the centre of excitement for all of us who still get a kick out of space exploration. It’s where every astronaut has been launched into space. It’s Merritt Island!
So, from this Apollo Geek Child (I still have my scrapbooks) to the unknown reader in Merritt Island, a big hello. If you’re working at NASA and taking a little break from monitoring the action on the space shuttle, I’m honoured that you dropped by. If you don’t work for NASA, what the hell: Humour me. In the meantime, it’s very nice to have you on my list.
