Inadequate
My love and I share a fondness for the skies.
We both appreciate beautiful sunsets, approaching storm fronts and creative cumulus formations. Occasionally that appreciation distracts us from everyday things like telephone conversations, work, customers, family, and driving in a straight line. Once in awhile, we have the presence of mind to get out the camera.
Trouble is, my love is a master with the camera and seems to be able to capture just about anything that his mind’s eye sees. I’m still working on that. Take last night, for instance: While I laboured away at the shot on the left, hoping to re-insert a bit more drama into the clouds that approached my neighbourhood and thinking that for a first effort, I’d done a pretty good job, Ray was out chasing the storms in his neck of the woods. He came back with these.
As if the lightning itself wasn’t stunning enough, the fact that he captured such spectacular shots without putting himself in danger and making me a widow before I have a chance to marry him left me pretty much breathless with admiration.
